Chipotle Butternut Squash & Pepper Jack Grilled Cheese
This grilled cheese sandwich combines the sweetness of roasted butternut squash with the spicy kick of chipotle peppers and the gooey goodness of pepper jack cheese, all sandwiched between two slices of crispy sourdough bread.
Ingredients:
- 2 slices sourdough bread
- 1/2 cup roasted butternut squash, mashed
- 2-3 slices pepper jack cheese
- 1 teaspoon chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, minced
- 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions:
On one piece of sourdough bread, spread mashed butternut squash
On top of the butternut squash, put slices of pepper jack cheese
Put small pieces of chipotle pepper on top of the cheese
Put the other piece of sourdough bread on top to make a sandwich
Cover the outside of the sandwich with butter
Place the pan on medium heat
Put the sandwich in the pan and use a spatula to gently press it down for three to four minutes on each side until it turns golden brown
Take it out of the pan when both sides are crispy and the cheese is melted
Cross-cut the sandwich and serve it hot
